Feeding Florida is the state’s lead organization in the fight to end hunger. Our statewide network unites 14 member food banks (including Bread of the Mighty Food Bank) to provide a healthy, adequate, and consistent food supply to every community every day. Feeding Florida member food banks support more than 2,600 local charitable agencies, which provide food directly to individuals and families in need to ensure a hunger-free Florida. Each year, the Feeding Florida network provides food to the 3.3 million Floridians facing hunger, including 1.1 million children and 700,000 seniors. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a member of the Florida Disaster Relief Team, our top priority in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, will be to get food, water and other essentials to those in need.
Please help our efforts by hosting a Fund and Food Drive – during September's Hunger Action Month. Fund and Food Drive Goal – raise money and collect, non-perishable food. For every $1 raised, Bread of the Mighty can provide up to (7) meals. 1.3 pounds of food collected provides one meal.
Now that the school year is underway, Bread of the Mighty is busy stocking 7 school pantries monthly with produce, meat, dairy, dry goods and hygiene essentials all while providing food to our 160+ agency partners Monday through Friday as they then distributed to those in need throughout our five county service area ~ Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Lafayette and Levy.
Whether you join us in celebrating 30 years of serving the community with a September Fund and Food Drive, or assist us during the holidays or throughout the year - your support is always needed and appreciated.
